Billericay Women’s Team Football Club proudly continue their affiliation with Titus Mulama and The NextStar Football Tournament in Nairobi.
Titus Mulama is a former Kenyan International Footballer and Founder and Director of The Next Star Tournaments. When Titus retired from the game due to injury, he recognised the need to improve player welfare and ensure better management across Kenyan football clubs. Very aware of the thousands of children in love with football across the ghettos in Nairobi, he set his sights on changing children’s lives through the beautiful game.
NextStar was founded in 2022 to facilitate fun and inclusive football tournaments across Nairobi, with the ambition to develop players and discover the next Kenyan International stars through the promotion of grassroots football. Committed to fostering a respectful, uplifting and nurturing soccer ecosystem, the tournament teaches children vital life skills, promoting positive mental attitudes and instilling good sportsmanship.
The NextStar Tournaments are held throughout the year. They are big events in Nairobi. The first All Girls Edition was held in April and a huge success! BTWFC sent best wishes on our LinkedIn social media page.
From the tournaments, Titus and his team have created AllStars Teams by scouting top players across the tournaments. Recently a U'13 girls’ team of 20 talented players has been selected and training is due to commence in July. The ambition is to ensure they receive the best training and compete in leagues and tournaments on a local and international scale.
BTWFC strongly believe that opportunities for girls and women to play football should be the same across the world and we are certain it will get there one day. We are also passionate about charity and the importance of community; this year we have taken this one step further and set our horizons on an international initiative that we whole-heartedly support. We really believe in Titus and his team and excited to do our bit to keep the movement growing.
We are currently looking for businesses to affiliate with us and NextStar on this exciting initiative, with urgent funds required to provide essential equipment such as footballs, football boots, footballs, kits and much, much more, to enable the AllStar teams to function as a football team.
